本校簡介 About Our School  

The Central Massachusetts Chinese Language School is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 by a group of parents who shared the same passion for Chinese language education.  Over time, it grew from a three-classroom parent co-op to the current education system that provides K-9 Chinese language curriculum.

Our school’s mission is to:

• Teach Chinese language and promote Chinese culture and heritage among Chinese American children. 

• Provide culture enrichment opportunities to our local communities to promote mutual understanding.

Our school offers the following:

• The language curriculum employs traditional Chinese characters along with both Zhu Yin and Pin Yin phonetic systems.

• Small Preschool to Grade 9 classes with individualized learning environment and activity based curriculum.

• Bilingual conversational classes for non-Chinese speaking adults.
• An optional hour of after school enrichment activities including Chinese folk dance, Chinese painting and calligraphy, Chinese chess, badminton, table tennis and martial arts.

         本校於一九七八年九月，由居住於Northborough的常天任先生所發起，集合了大Worcester地區的其他六個家庭共同創立。本校是以傳授中華語文，促進社區對中國文化的認識為宗旨。學校由創校時三個班級及十幾位學生擴展至現今的十三個班級及近百位學生。本校為麻州政府立案之非營利性組織，並為美東中文學校協會的成員之一，和其他中文學校及華人團體經常保持密切聯繫及合作，並積極參與社區中華文化宣揚活動。

          本校教學課程分語文課及文化課(志願性選修)兩種，語文課每週日下午二時至四時上課二小時，文化課於下午四時至五時上課一小時。語文課班級共分拼音、幼小、幼大、中一至中九、及成人班，以中文正體字及注音教學為主，並輔以漢語拼音教學，進而認、寫、字句，並瞭解中華文化，以期最後能聽、寫、讀、說、應對自如。文化課為志願性選修性質，每學期所開設課程視師資狀況及學生興趣作適當調整，包括書法、國畫、民俗舞蹈、象棋、手工藝、武術、及各類運動活動等，以提昇學生學習興趣，及認識中華藝術文化為主旨。本校並經常舉辦校內演講及各類校內外師生家長活動，以充實家長及師生間知識、文化、及感情之交流。
